CQC inconsistency can give poorer practices better ratings than top performers, review warns

Ratings awarded to GP practices by the CQC are inconsistent because the watchdog has failed to define clearly what good or outstanding care looks like - with providers warning that 'poorer quality' practices can receive better ratings than top-performing ones, a report commissioned by the government shows.
