Shortage protocol for antibiotics imminent as penicillin prescriptions soar
A serious shortage protocol (SSP) for some antibiotics is likely to be introduced imminently as group A strep fears have led to a five-fold increase in prescriptions for penicillin in recent weeks, a senior health official has said.
